NYC Jewelry Week pop-up highlights SCAD student and alumni work

Since opening our SoHo location in the heart of New York City this year, we’ve loved having opportunities to engage with the design community in new and exciting ways.

This month we hosted Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) for a week-long pop-up during NYC Jewelry Week, a celebration of all things jewelry - events, tours, workshops, speakers, exhibitions and more.

It was an amazing opportunity to connect with creative minds across numerous disciplines.

We hosted two events at our studio for jewelry enthusiasts over the course of the week. The first, “Artificial Beauty: A conversation about the beauty and future of man-made stones,” featured a panel of jewelry and gemstone experts to discuss everything related to lab-grown stones and diamonds - a hot topic impacting the jewelry industry today.

Then we shifted gears for a celebration of students, alumni and friends of both SCAD and Industry West as we hosted a Jewelry Week reception in our studio. We were thrilled by the turnout and loved the opportunity to welcome new faces into our space and showcase the progressive work of SCAD jewelry degree students and alumni.

Meanwhile our sister site - Favor - featured SCAD grad Jocelyn Desisto as its November Maker of the Month!  Jocelyn and Lot28 Design produce 3D printed and hand-painted contemporary jewelry, inspired by microbiology.

We’re already looking forward to next year - innovation in design will always be important to us, no matter the discipline - and especially at the intersection of disciplines (like furniture and jewelry). Stay tuned in 2020 as we host more events and pop-up shopping experiences in our SoHo studio in 2020!
